Graphic Design
Fall 2024 semester, I took the UNC course MEJO 182: Introduction to Graphic Design. Throughout this course I was able to become well-versed in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign. Here are a few of my projects!
Project 1: Identity Design
For this project, I designed my personal logo on Adobe Illustrator. I created the dice vector to play off of my last name, “Gamble”! We were assigned to create our own business card and letterhead using our branding. (Spoiler alert: I used this to inspire this website!)
Project 2: Promotional Design
For this next project, we were tasked to create two different promotional posters for a local event. I chose to make these posters to promote the Richy Mitch and the Coal Miners concert at a Chapel Hill concert venue that’s popular with students. I personally love this band’s music and am passionate about live music so this was a very fun project! I designed these posters on both Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
Project 3: Publication Design
For this assignment we were told to do an entertainment magazine spread design. We were given the choice between either Beetlejuice Beetlejuice or Alien: Romulus - I chose Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. We were given the copy and titles and were tasked with the design. This was created on Adobe InDesign and some edits in Photoshop.
Project 4: Infographic Design
For our final graphic design project we were asked to create an infographic about anything we wanted. This was our final showcase to combine all of the skills we developed over the semester and use design to convey data as a story. I chose to do my infographic on the new movie Wicked: Part 1. As a former theatre kid, this one was so much fun for 10 year old Lyndsey.
